We have a whole lot of things to do this year and I am just as excited as a four year old going to Disneyland about it!

First thing on our agenda this year is a fundraiser for ourselves! We have just poured our hearts out over Alison and the Xenophon kids, the Land Trust and the Access Adventure- now it is time for MHA to try to make a little money to improve our arena. It's been fifteen years since we redid the base and reconfigured the whole thing, and now it is time to do it all again.

September meeting place will be at Bull Dog Bar B Que, Main Street Martinez. Meeting is inside the restaurant, food,beverages, wine and beer are available for purchase, but you do not need to purchase items to attend meeting. We will be Voting for 2010 Board members, so please come down to participate!

June 3 Battle of the Barns meeting- John and Julie Stuscavage's home 3840 Canyon Way, Martinez- COUNTDOWN to DESTINY!

June 17 General meeting- Horsemen's Equestrian Park End of Joe Dimaggio Drive- 6:30 PM Speaker_? Yes we will have one- but you'll hae to guess who it is going to be! Last months speakers were Bill Jones and Virginia Mason. They were great! Be sure not to miss this moths speaker!

June 14- WORK DAY. We still need to spray and cut weed, scrub the snack shack- paint some stuff and get our arena ready for our big day! Please join us!

June 20- Battle of the Barns Practice Day- Ride and Practice all day for $10 a horse! Unwind all the twists and turns Roxanne is sure to have put in this years patterns!

July Schedule

July 1- Battle of the Barns Final meeting- Carrows on Muir Road, Martinez. 6PM for drinks and dinner.

July 4- Happy Fourth of July . Feel free to go to the arnea to picnic and watch the fireworks. Remember no Fireworks of any kind allowed in CCC or especially the park!

July 24 - Meet at the Arena for the final clean up and prep for Battle of the Barns. 5-8 Pizza night afterwards. We need help setting up the signs, cleaning the shack, drawing the lines in the dirt, etc. Please come down to help if you can.

July 25- Battle of the Barns- Disney Gates open at 7 AM. Still looking for volunteers to help! Contact Barbara Glenn if you can help even for awhile!

Meeting Dates for February

General meeting to be held Wednesday February 18 6:30 PM. at 111 Alhambra Hills Drive, Martinez.

November and Dues

As most of you know we take a little break in November. No scheduled meetings until the Christmas Potluck in December ( more about that later)

But that doesen't mean that the club stops working for you. Oh No! Something is always happening in Horsemen Land- this time it is the EBRP trying to raise our rent! Yes you read that right. I am trying to negotiate a lower rent right now, and I will let you all know how that goes...however if I can't negotiate a new amount the club is going to have to really raise its club dues.

Right now dues are only $20.00 for a single and $35 for a Family. Of course we use that money to maintain the Snack Shack and the tractor, pay the rent, pay the insurance and defray costs for any parties we have. So I am asking you all to please pay your dues now if you haven't done so already.

You can send them directly to the P.O. Box of 1954,Martinez, Ca 94553. Please make sure you put your name and address inside the envelope so we can make sure you are on our updated form.

The newsletter will (hopefully) be going online after the next snail mail one comes out. Please make sure I have your e-mail address if you want to continue getting the newsletter!
